Clutch pedal sticks to floor sometimes

Sep 08, 2009 · Weird thing happened this morning. I was stopped with the clutch pedal depressed and the trans in first gear. When I started to drive and raised the clutch pedal (maybe 1/2 inch) the truck immediately took off. My first thought was that I had lost hydraulic fluid. ok i just recently bought a 2004 maxima 6 spd. it was in great condition and an awesome price so i took it. i love everything about the car but lately my clutch has been acting up. it'll have almost no resistance and be close to the floor making it hard to shift. i googled it and it seems to be a wide spread problem but i wanted to see if anyone has figured a definite fix or atleast the source ...However from cold the clutch pedal sticks to the floor and will only travel about 1"; the gears seem to still work but clutch control is a little tricky! ... M.To change, you need 13mm + 14mm open end spanners. Slacken the bolt with the 13mm spanner to remove the parts including steel barrel & rubber bellows. Transfer the steel barrel to the new pushrod, and refit to pedal. The barrel has an off centre hole through it to give fine adjustment of the clutch "feel". This can be done with the 14mm spanner ... the pedal stayed on the floor but let me drive in gear, i quickly got my foot under and pulled the pedal up and then shifted into 2nd gear, same issue, it stuck again on the floor. Now i am able to "pump" the pedal >sometimes without it sticking but then other times if i just put the clutch in 1/4 of the way it will actually pull itself to the floor.
